What is most meaningful to you?
“For me, the most meaningful thing in life is connection. Connection to nature and connection to others. I think I embody those things through surfing, and through being there for other people.”
Mario: I'd say the most meaningful event in my life has been growing up and learning to love myself. Stepping into just loving every aspect of who you are and what makes you. The uniqueness of everything that brings you to life — embracing that and showing it to the world. I think when people learn to love themselves, they can really shine.
The most recent event that felt like complete love for myself was cycling through Mexico. I rode my bike from Mexico City down to Yucatan, where my grandparents are from. During that trip, it was really a reconnection to my ancestral roots.
It was like seeing Mexico through a different light, through a slower pace. Exploring the people and embracing places that are overlooked when traveling through Mexico. That’s when I learned to love my culture.
I'd highly recommend that as this moment in time where you just look into the mirror and maybe do something that causes you to go inward in order to come back outward better.
“The ocean, to me, feels like a deep connection to my indigeneity when I think about it, I've always been pulled to the ocean with my Mayan ancestral roots.”
We started Silent Opus to create more soulful connections because we believe the jewelry we wear is much more than an accessory. It’s a vessel to communicate what’s most meaningful to us — beyond words.
